Bridge & Tunnel Vintage was born from my love of vintage from the 70s, 80s and 90s. As a late Gen Xer, what I loved during my child and teen years has carried with me into adulthood and formed my personal style. When sourcing clothes, etc, I'm inspired by the styles from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and early 00s music and club scenes as well as the street style in cities across the world.

The name Bridge & Tunnel is a callback to what Manhattanites during those decades used to call anyone who lived off the island, specially people from  Brooklyn, Queens, and New Jersey, who would come into the city to go clubbing, etc. They all had to travel either by a bridge or a tunnel to get into NYC, making them the bridge & tunnel crowd. Today, I would argue a lot of those people have more authentic ties to NYC than many of it's current inhabitants.
